The #AmWriting Preorder Link is NOW LIVE!!!!!!!! A Collection of Letters to Benefit @TheWayneFDN

Good morning, bibliojunkies! Just a few months ago, this was just an idea tossed around between some friends, and today, we’re one step closer to seeing it in print.  🙂  #AmWriting’s preorder link is officially live!  I’m so excited about this project, and so are all the wonderful authors who contributed their words to make it happen.  Not only do the proceeds benefit The Wayne Foundation, our hope is that the book itself will encourage other artists.  Good juju all around!  🙂

I wont be around much today.  I have a long list of PR work to do for some new clients who came on board, and then I am working on formatting the print and ebook versions of #AmWriting.  That’s a new experience for me as well, but I started it a few nights ago, and I am soooooooooo happy with how it’s coming out.  Cant wait for you guys to see it!  🙂

I have a super-huge favor to ask of you guys.  The #AmWriting project has a HeadTalker campaign open for release day.  If you’re not familiar with how it works, HeadTalker is what’s called a crowd-sourcing platform.  You give a one-time authorization for your social media account to allow Headtalker to post our campaign message at the end of the campaign (the message for this campaign announces that #AmWriting is released). It’s an automated process, so that’s all you have to do. It’s a quick, painless way to help support authors and get the word out about this great project, and it doesn’t cost a dime.  🙂  If you’d like to support the campaign, you can do so by clicking this link.  On the campaign page, you can support it with your Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and/or LinkedIn.  🙂  That’s it.  Just the click of a button.  🙂

Okay, I’m off.  LOTS of work to do today.  🙂  Happy Hump Day, bitches!  😉

AmWriting Ebook

Knowing what you know now of writing, publishing, and putting your art out into the world, if you could go back to the day you sat down to start typing in your very first manuscript, what words would you offer to yourself?  Words of encouragement?  Words of advice?  Caution against certain pitfalls?  Would you change anything about how you got to where you are today?

The publishing community is so much bigger than it was before the self-publishing boom and it continues to grow exponentially every day.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a handbook or support group.  #AmWriting is a collection of letters written by authors from all different corners of the publishing community.  The letters provide words of encouragement or advice to those just starting out or those who have become discouraged in their art.  At Pure Textuality PR, we believe in supporting each other as a community, and we felt this project would be a good way to bring writers together and maybe give some new artists just the right nudge to keep going.

100% of the net proceeds of #AmWriting will be donated to The Wayne Foundation, a charity dedicated to offering aid and services to young women victimized by illegal sexual exploitation and the sexual trafficking of minors.  For more information about The Wayne Foundation, you can visit them on the web at http://waynefdn.org.

COVER REVEAL: #AmWriting, A Collection of Letters to Benefit #TheWayneFoundation (@TheWayneFDN)

Good morning, loves!  As I mentioned in my post last night, we’re kicking this Monday morning off with a cover reveal for a project I am super-proud of.  The project itself is for a good cause, I get to work with a lot of great writers while putting it together (INCLUDING JEANIENE FROST!!!), Pure Textuality PR is acting in the capacity of a publisher again, and I created the cover.

I cant wait for the day we hit publish on this book. The letters that are rolling in are beautiful, sweet, and funny. Some are sarcastic. Some make you get all teary. They’re all good and they show that no matter what you write, no matter who your audience is, we’re all going through the same things along our individual paths, even if we’re not talking about it.

Anyway, enough gushing. Go check out the cover and dont forget to pick up your copy on June 7th.  😉

AmWriting Cover Placeholder

And now, we need YOU.

#amwriting will be a collection of letters written by authors to their fledgling-writer selves:

Knowing what you know now of writing, publishing, and putting your art out into the world, if you could go back to the day you sat down to start typing in your very first manuscript, what words would you offer to yourself?  Words of encouragement?  Words of advice?  Caution against certain pitfalls?  Would you change anything about how you got to where you are today?

100% of the net proceeds of #amwriting will go to benefit The Wayne Foundation, a charity dedicated to offering aid and services to young women victimized by illegal sexual exploitation and the sexual trafficking of minors.  The Wayne Foundation was co-founded by Kevin Smith, writer, director, podcastic guru, and (as I’m sure you’re all *very* sick of hearing by now) my artistic hero.

Would you like to contribute to #amwriting by writing yourself a letter???  All are welcome!!!!  The link to the commitment form is at the bottom of this post.  Please fill out that form to be added to the #amwriting mailing list (for deadline reminders only; see details below).

If you need me, I’ll be over here killin’ some peeps. #amwriting

Good morning, you sexy mofos!  I’m excited this morning.  I have nothing to do today except WRITE.  I’ve busted out the Dance With the Devil manuscript document and I plan to spend my entire day writing between calls at the day job.  Luckily, the benefit of working this close to Christmas is all the NORMAL people around the country assume we’re probably closed and leave us alone.  Makes for a quiet day on the job.  I’m hoping to have this bad bitch wrapped up by New Years (that would be AMAZING) so I can announce the release date.

Here’s a little snippet from Dance With the Devil.  Last week, I released a piece of it as a part of a teaser.  Instead of making a new teaser image, I figured I’d reveal just a little bit more of the conversation.  😉  Enjoy!

“You may be having trouble controlling your powers,” he said in a gruff whisper, his tone intimate, making her spine tingle, “but I know you, probably better than you know yourself.  What sets you apart from them is the very core of what makes you Deziree.  My Deziree.   I know every part of you.”  He leaned closer to her ear and she heard him inhale, slow and deep.  “I know your scent, I can smell the effect I have on you.  The energy I feel between us is the same vibration that’s been there since long before your powers ever manifested.”  He came around her side again, circling her like prey.

“I’ve tasted you, Deziree.  No matter how hard you try, you will never be able to hide from me.  Try to play unshakable all you want, I know the truth.  You’re scared.”

Vegas, Dance With the Devil, Coming 2016

Dance With the Devil Teaser 1

Oh!  Also, I finally finished Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series (to date) and I didn’t hate it.  I still have a hard time with some of the concepts in the book (like the main character being backbone impaired), but overall, it was good.  The steam factor was WAY up there.  Hot hot HOT sex scenes.  Sylvia Day would be a truly gifted porn director.  lol  I will be (im)patiently waiting for the last book to come out in April.  For the record, I’ve still yet to read any erotic romance with BDSM that holds a candle to Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinners series.  She set the bar in my mind and nothing else has been able to compete as of yet.

Alright, I’m off to write!  Talk to you all soon!!!!

The Big, Fat Update on All My WIP’s… #amwriting

I know all of my faithful readers have been waiting patiently for the third installment in my Demon Legacy series, Dance With the Devil.  I just did a check in with my editor the other day to let her know that I will soon have four titles coming her way.

Yes, four.

Since I’ve brought her in the loop, I figured it would be a spectacular time to bring you all in on what I’ve been writing.

*grumblegrumble* This @ThatKevinSmith post brought to you by my foul mood…

Yeah, I’m in a bitchy mood, I admit it.  My anxiety B.S. is cranked up to 11 and I can’t focus on anything very well at all.  I’ve got a lot going on at the moment, and although none of it is earth-shattering, it feels as though it is because that’s just the nature of having a fat load of anxiety issues.  Irrational fears and irritation over shit that just doesn’t warrant those feelings, and what’s worse is you’re fully aware of just how unnecessary it is that you’re feeling that way.  *shrug*  It’ll pass.  It always passes.  I just need to get through my work day and get my ass home where Tigmastaflex and my Batman pajamas are waiting for me.  Tonight’s grand plan is to spend the evening chillaxing in my basement den, curled up on the couch by my woodstove with laptop.  I’m going to get good and centered, then focus all my energy into getting this damn book FINISHED.

I promised you all a blog post today, and since I don’t have anything nice to say, I’m going to leave it up to Kevin Smith to bring the positive vibes.  As for me, I’m going to finish listening to this week’s episode of Hollywood Babble-On and hopefully get some writing done.  Wish me lots of luck, loves!
