Greetings, humans! I know I have been a little quiet for the last few days and I have a completely valid excuse. I’ve been on a reading binge. I’m talking about a bender of epic proportions. Not really sure what triggered it, but I am letting it ride through the rest of this week. Then, on Sunday, I will return to my writing ways and bang out the rest of Dance With the Devil (*crossables crossed*).
Here’s a partial list of what I am reading right now:
……..you have to keep reading to see the list…….

You’re Making Me Hate You
by Corey Taylor
In the tradition of the late great George Carlin, New York Times bestselling author and lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour Corey Taylor sounds off in hilarious fashion about the many vagaries of modern life that piss him off.
Whether it’s people’s rude behavior in restaurants and malls, the many indignities of air travel, eye-searingly terrible fashion choices, dangerously clueless drivers, and—most of all—the sorry state of much modern music, Taylor’s humor and insight cover civil society’s seeming decline—sparing no one along the way, least of all himself.
Holding nothing back and delivered in Taylor’s inimitable voice, You’re Making Me Hate You is a cathartic critique of the strange world in which we find ourselves.

Eighth Grave After Dark
by Darynda Jones
With twelve hellhounds after her, pregnant Charley Davidson takes refuge at the only place she thinks they can’t get to her: the grounds of an abandoned convent. But after months of being cooped up there, Charley is ready to pop. Both metaphorically and literally since she is now roughly the size of a beached whale. Fortunately, a new case has captured her attention, one that involves a murder on the very grounds the team has taken shelter upon. A decades-old murder of the newly-vowed nun she keeps seeing in the shadows is almost enough to pull her out of her doldrums.
Charley’s been forbidden to step foot off the sacred grounds. While the angry hellhounds can’t traverse the consecrated soil, they can lurk just beyond its borders. They have the entire team on edge, especially Reyes. And if Charley didn’t know better, she would swear Reyes is getting sick. He grows hotter with every moment that passes, his heat scorching across her skin every time he’s near, but naturally he swears he’s fine.
While the team searches for clues on the Twelve, Charley just wants answers and is powerless to get them. But the mass of friends they’ve accrued helps. They convince her even more that everyone in her recent life has somehow been drawn to her, as though they were a part of a bigger picture all along. But the good feelings don’t last for long because Charley is about to get the surprise of her crazy, mixed-up, supernatural life….

Out of the Darkness
By Simone Nicole
The much awaited conclusion to Ahead of the Darkness.
She ruined me.
The walls I’d built were for a reason; locking myself in my own personal prison was out of necessity. Now, with the rubble at my feet, I could do nothing but watch as she ripped my soul in two, taking the half she owned with her.
The need to settle down, to find that missing piece, for the all-consuming love, was never Drew’s plan. He’d spent the better part of a decade suppressing all memory of love, of life. He told himself he had the essentials: the impressive apartment, the successful club, the simple, uncomplicated life he’d worked so hard to create. It was all he needed. Until Mia.
She entered his life like wildfire, burning through his world and destroying all pretence of simplicity, evoking everything he’d fought to deny.
Longing. Warmth. Love.
She made him want it all, but Amelia lived in the darkness. It had always been her constant yet terrifying companion. A shadow she’d never been able to out run and one fateful night it finally consumed her, shattering both their worlds and burying them deeper in the dark.
Drew will stop at nothing to save her, for their happy ever after, but Mia isn’t the only one with demons … It’s a long way out of the darkness.
*This is not a stand alone and picks up at the end of AotD. Please read the first in the series before starting this one. This book contains adult content and is recommended for mature readers.
