Greetings, humans! This afternoon’s post is going to be a little bit of verbal vomit, but I promise you there is a point. It’s been a few weeks since I did a real good blog post and it’s time.
As you all know, on top of writing and Pure Textuality PR, I still work a day job. About three weeks ago, my boss came to me and asked if I would be willing to join a training class with some of the newer team members. It was a block of business I hadn’t been trained on, and quite frankly, it meant twenty hours of overtime over the course of two weeks. I made the after school arrangements for my kids, and committed. Three nights into the class, I was regretting it. I honestly didn’t think that two hours extra a night after my normal eight hour day would be a lot, but it really is. It’s mentally exhausting. I found that after the first week, I was spending every spare minute of my day yawning. Red watery eyes all the time are not a cute look.
Anyway, I finally finished the training and passed my test last Saturday, and it’s taken me a week to get caught up and back on track, and this past weekend was an integral part of getting there. I spent Saturday working on PTPR stuff, and Sunday I spent the afternoon and evening with Heather (one of the PTPR staff) just hanging out, laughing, sipping wine, and watching the Patriots game. I was lazy and spent most of the weekend in pajamas and next to no housework was accomplished. However, at the end of my uberlazy weekend, I feel refreshed and ready to kick some ass. After the last few weeks I’ve had, it feels really good to be able to say that.
Yesterday I was listening to a podcast and had a realization I want to share with all of you. I know a lot of my followers here on the Bloggy Blog are writers, and I want to offer you some words of encouragement and comfort. By all means, please feel free to credit Chris Hardwick on this, because without his podcast, I wouldn’t be writing this post.
