Happy Valentine’s Day, lovah! Celebrate with FREE Dark Romance Reads!

Hey there, gorgeous! Happy Valentine’s Day to all those celebrating with a loved one or pelvic pal! I’m keeping my message short and sweet this morning because I have so many long and filthy reads to recommend. ((snort)) See what I did there? 🤣 Oooh, I giggle….

Okay, BOOKS! First, all of these books are available in the Kindle Unlimited reading program. I read some really good stories last week and won’t be writing big wordy reviews for them, but I liked them enough to want to share them with you.

DEVIANT HEARTS by Jagger Cole was actually my first time reading any of Cole’s work. And it was excellent. It’s an enemies-to-lovers standalone within a series all set in the same world. What I didn’t expect was how funny it was. The FMC is about as far from a distressed damsel as one could possibly get and she was charming AF in her own quirky way. The KORNILOV BRATVA DUET by Nicole Fox (Married to the Don and Til Death So Us Part) was a great twisty mafia story with secrets on top of secrets on top of secrets. The poor FMC gets blindsided by more than a couple of them but it makes for some great drama. The first REBEL KINGS MC duet by Garrett Leigh (Devil’s Dance and Saint’s Song) was my first time reading any work by this author. I didn’t bother reading the blurb before I snagged the book and it turns out the series is MMM why choose romance. The organized crime storyline is so twisty and so good, and along the way, a Russian assassin and two British bikers fall madly in love. If you’re into audiobooks, the narrator of this one is an impressive talent. He reads Alexei with a clipped Russian accent, Cam with an easy-going Irish lilt, and Saint with a raspy English accent (that happens to sound just like the actor Mark Strong) all within scenes together. The shift between characters is so easy because they have such clear sounds to their voices. And he gives the side characters their own voices as well. A MC full of British bikers could have been a really confusing listen and it wasn’t, at all.

The LOVE & HATE DUET by C.R. Jane and Ivy Fox was devastating. An absolutely heartbreaking bully romance read. It’s a stepbrother romance which I know will freak some people out but they’re not blood relatives, they weren’t raised together, and meet when they’re almost adults. The first book is the bully end of things where they meet as teenagers when their parents announce that they’ve been dating and will be getting married. After a series of awful events, the second book throws them back together after a big time jump. I cried so frikkin much, you guys but I regret nothing. The duet is so good. The first L.A. RUTHLESS series duet by Sadie Kincaid (Fierce King and Fierce Queen). It’s a little darker than your standard mafia romance but it made for lots of good twists. This is definitely a story of two people who thought they already knew everything they needed to about the person they were arranged to marry finding out they were dead wrong. LOVE ME TO DEATH by Brynne Asher caught me with a sucker punch. I didn’t see the twist coming at all. I mean, AT ALL. When I realized what was happening, I yelled at my ereader in shock. Aaaaaaand I can’t really say anything more than that without blowing the plot. Read the book and be shocked with me.

WIPdate: I know I’ve been doing a lot of reading but I’ve been writing too! I promise! The Make Me Bad manuscript is now up over 41,000 words, and if I had to place a guess on it now, that means it will finish up at around 90k-100k words. She’s gonna be THICK but I am loving the direction the story has taken. Teasers for that book will begin rolling out soon!
