Personality: As werewolf alphas go, Marcel is pretty laid back. He likes to keep his pack limited to a small trusted circle.
Favorites: Riding his Harley, running at the full moon, reading a good book, sipping a nice smoky bourbon, a certain five-foot-four blonde hunter.
Like Jamie, Marcel is introduced to the Hellfire world through Reckoning, a free Hellfire/Executioner crossover novella that happens to be told from his point of view.
Behind-the-Scenes: The reason I chose not to feature Marcel on the book covers with Jamie is because I couldn’t find a cover model that fits Marcel. Not the Marcel I have in my head. Don’t get me wrong, the guy I have featured here in this blog post is good enough but my Marcel Cross is Jason Momoa, circa this picture:
No matter how much I’ve tried to picture him as someone else, he’s Mr. Momoa in my head. Here’s one of my favorite Marcel moments. Enjoy!
He led me back to the door we used to get up to the roof and held it open for me to walk through. As soon as the door was closed behind us, and without any warning, Marcel swept me up in his arms and claimed my mouth with his. It was the first private moment we’d had in weeks. I didn’t fight it. I didn’t want to, not anymore. I melted into him—the smell of him, the taste of him, the feel of his skin against my own. When he broke the kiss, my body cried out in protest but there were people waiting on us. When he spoke, his voice came out in a gruff whisper.
“I’ve wanted to do that for days,” he whispered.
Me too, I thought but I didn’t say it out loud. A slow smile spread across his lips and for a second, I almost wondered if he’d heard me but I pushed it aside, certain that it was an impossibility.
“This is complicated.” My words came out in a rush of breath.
“Not really,” he replied, shaking his head. “I don’t think it could possibly be any more simple. You just have to give in and let it wash over you.”
“And what’s to keep me from drowning?” I challenged. He was so close, I could feel the heat radiating off his skin.
He leaned in and whispered in my ear, “Would that be so bad?”
He stepped back giving me just enough room to meet his gaze. Staring up into his eyes, I suddenly felt like I was standing on a cliff with a burning desire to run as fast as I could force my legs to carry me and jump off the edge, just to see how it would feel.
