Good morning, you sexy mofos! We’re officially coming down to the final bits of my countdown. Today marks five days until I’m finally going to be a full time writer! Well, full time writer, book blogger, and publicist at Pure Textuality PR (if you’re a writer looking for PA or PA help, give my PR site a visit because we’re running a whole bunch of super-awesome deals to celebrate going full time!).
Now that I am going full time, I’ve started participating in all the things I really couldn’t prior to the big change in my life’s direction – author takeovers, Facebook parties, Instagram photo challenges – and today was the first day of my first photo challenge over on the Instagrams!!
In This Post:
- #AuthorLifeMonth Photo Challenge
- Becoming a Full Time Writer
YA/NA author Dahlia Adler decided to cook up her own #AuthorLifeMonth Instagram Photo Challenge. I actually didn’t know anything about it until this morning when I saw Chelle Bliss’s Day 1 photo. I searched the hash tag, found the original post, and saved the graphic so I could follow along.
I know this might sound silly to some, but between my kids, PTPR, and my day job, I’ve never had the time or focus to participate in this type of fun stuff. On a level, I’ve always felt like I’m missing out. 🙂 For the length of the photo challenge, I’m moving my IG widget to the top of my sidebar menu, but you can also follow along by following me @puretextuality.
And it’s not too late! You can still jump on board! Just download the challenge photo above so you can keep track and get your Day 1 photo, Your Books, uploaded to IG with the hash tag #AuthorLifeMonth. Here’s mine:
#AUTHORLIFEMONTH DAY 1: YOUR BOOKS – Burning, The Devil You Know, Suffering, Speak of the Devil, Dance With the Devil (coming this year), and Genesis. Burning is getting a face lift this year, and I’ve got the covers coming for Bad Wolf, Untitled Romance #1, and Untitled Romance #2. ❤ #AuthorLifeMonth#bookstagram #photochallenge #writerlife#amwriting #amreading #booksaremagic#writer #author
If you join in on the challenge, hit my up on IG so I can give you a follow!
Another fantastic “side effect” of me going full time is I will be posting to this blog every day. As always, sometimes it’ll be writing and publishing related, sometimes I may very well be here to talk to you about the civil war taking place in my sock drawer (long story – don’t ask). It all depends on the mood of the day. I’m looking forward to getting back to it on a daily basis simply because I love blogging. I wrote in journals for YEARS and my blog is basically just my journal made public.
Part of going full time is also my daily word count. I’ve created a Google calendar called Shit I Have to Get Done and I’ve already started mapping out my daily schedule for the next two months. On that schedule is WORD COUNT: 1000 words and it’s on the schedule seven days a week with no end in sight. I need to get more disciplined about my writing and the rigid schedule is part of that. 🙂
Alright, you beautiful little butterflies! I’m off! I have some writing to do (1000 words minimum, I promise) and I have some blogging to do. 🙂
As always, I cant thank you all enough for your continued support. For writers, readers are everything, and mine rock particularly hard. 😉
