Fantasy With Fire’s The Dirty Thirty Part II & III

Yesterday was bananas and I missed the post yesterday.  Therefore, today will serve as part II and III!  As part of the Fantasy With Fire event I have going on with super-awesome urban fantasy author K.C. Stewart, we decided to interview each other!  Thirty questions each spread out over this week ending on Friday with a giveaway on each site.

Without further ado, here’s K.C. Stewart answering some of the weirder questions you’ll find in an author interview.  Enjoy!

K.C. Stewart lives in central Pennsylvania with her three cats. She is currently attending college online for Library Science while working full time as a photographer. In her spare time, which isn’t easy to find, she reads an obnoxious amount and writes in between everything else. K.C. has a very real addiction to gummy bears and talking to her cats when no one is around.

As an author, what are your feelings on the eBook craze? Good thing or bad thing for the industry?
I think it’s a good thing. Personally, I started reading more when I got my nook. The reason is a silly and slightly childish reason. I could now read the books I wanted and no one had to know what it was. Let me give you an example. If it was something of the more erotic nature then there were no awkward moments when checking out at Barnes and Noble.

FanFiction is becoming a widely used pass time for fans all over the place. Some authors are rather offended by fans creating their own stories with the author’s characters. An example of how active fanfics are: there are a little over 43,000 different Buffy fanfics just on one website. What are your feelings on fan-fic? Would you be flattered or offended if someone wrote a [Series Name] fanfic? *Keeping in mind that there is no money made on fanfic.*
I would be honored if someone like my characters so much that they wrote with them. The reasoning? I got into writing by what we called Role Play or RP. My first character was Bella part of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I wrote as many different BDB characters then broke off and went “indie.” Lia was my very first character that I created. So if someone starts writing by way of fanfiction and my books, then I think that’s wonderful. Hopefully one day they too will break off and start their own stories.

Are there any movies you could hold a one-man quote-a-thon for?
Anchorman. Beetlejuice, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter (all of them), Zoolander, Drop Dead Fred, um there are more but they aren’t coming to mind.

What’s your favorite ___________?:
– Vacation spot—North Carolina
– Place to write—My bed
– Alcoholic drink—Rum and ginger ale
– TV show that’s been cancelled—Firefly
– Holiday—Halloween

If you weren’t a writer, what profession would you choose to do for the rest of your life?
Easy. Librarian. I’m in school right now to be just that.

Are you a dog person or a cat person?
I’m an animal person.

What’s the strangest talent you have?
Yeah, I don’t know. I have the magical ability to procrastinate until the last moment and still manage to hand in papers for school that get me A’s? No? Yeah, I did tell you that I didn’t know.

If you could live in any fictional place, whether from a book or movie, where would you go?
I’d live in the TARDIS because then I could go to all the other places I love and visit.

What is your quirkiest habit?
I talk to my cats…like a lot….like a lot a lot.

The zombie apocalypse is here. Are you the type who’s going to survive or are you going to be zombie chow?
I’m dead within the first night.

In the world of urban fantasy, who is your favorite villain of all time and why?
Cimil in the Accidental Yours series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Not sure if she is exactly a “villain” but she is the bringer of the apocalypse and is bat shit crazy.

In the world of urban fantasy, who is your favorite book boyfriend of all time and why?
Zadist. He’s my one true (UF/PNR) love. Always has been, always will. Only Roarke (In Death series) or Mr. Darcy could ever replace him.

Check back tomorrow for more questions answered by urban fantasy author K.C. Stewart!
