Welcome back!

Below is a very important announcement about what I have coming up soon. Since this announcement was drafted, I have revealed the Ruiner cover and blurb and a snippet from Reaper. The Untouchable cover and blurb reveal are the next news items coming!

Now on to the announcement!

May 2, 2023 Announcement

I know you’re waiting on the Chosen Wolf preorder link but that’s not ready yet so today I’m sharing something else with you instead. I’ve been up to some wordy shenanigans on the sly and I’m finally ready to tell people about it.

Back in May 2016, I began what I thought was going to be a standalone romance novel. I would publish it under a pen name to keep the genres separate, and at the time, I felt so strongly about the idea of this book that I purchased exclusive rights to an image from a custom photoshoot for the cover. I also hired Rachel at Shoutlines Design to put together a top shelf design that would match the story I had knocking around in my head. It’s the most money I’ve ever spent on a cover. Rather than the standard shirtless man cover, the image features a beautiful blonde woman with tattoos down the side of her torso and no one else on the planet can use it

Everything was set so I began writing and at about 42,000 words into the novel, I realized something felt wrong. It read how I’d originally intended so it wasn’t like I’d veered wildly from from the story map, but something major was missing and I didn’t know what. So I parked the manuscript and sat on it for years. I would occasionally bounce back over and tweak it but I never felt good about it as a whole. And down my priority list it fell.

Everything changed a few months ago. Once again, I was staring at the Tomboy novel on my desktop wondering if there was something else I could do with it when an idea for another novel entirely hit me like a lightning bolt. Everything. Beginning to end, in vivid and sometimes grotesque detail. Within twenty-four hours, I had the entire novel outlined (forty chapters + an epilogue), a title (Ruiner), and I had the cover in hand. Within another day, I had two more standalone novels mapped out (Scream With Me and Reaper), and one more day after that, I gave Tomboy a new title (Untouchable) and reworked the outline to fix what was missing.

So my question for you is this…

Are you a romance reader?

Do you read dark romance?

Dark contemporary romance is a subgenre with more graphic/mature themes than traditional romance. Dark romance themes may include but are not limited to morally-gray characters, trauma, graphic violence and death, explicit language, alcohol and drug use or abuse, glorification of organized crime, stalking and obsession, revenge and vigilante justice plots, kidnapping, dubious consent, and/or BDSM elements.

Trigger Warnings

Back to the fantasy stuff! What does all of this mean for the future of the Hellfire world? Nothing really. I have the fourth Hellfire novel mapped out, and I now also have the third Executioner novel mapped out. I’ll be working on both of those and the first Avery Lennox novel all at the same time.
