Reading

Sylvia Day is a dirty bird! @SylDay #amreading

Good morning, bibliophiles.  I’m writing to you today with two large cups of coffee sitting in front of me and the distinct groggy feeling you only get from an all-nighter.  To add to the ambiance, I have this guilt hanging over me, as though I spent until 2:30am peeping through the bedroom window of one of the hotter couple in literature. Let me explain…

A few weeks back, I received an email from Sylvia Day’s publicist letting me know that One With You,  the fifth and final book in the Crossfire series, is coming out on April 5, 2016.  I’ve owned the first three books in the series for about a year, but hadn’t gotten around to reading them yet.  I decided that was as good a cue as any to get myself caught up in time to read/review the fifth book.  I emailed the publicist back, asked him to put me on the review copy list, and I took a day in late November to blow right through Bared To You.  I liked it, a lot, but I didn’t have time right them to delve into the rest of the series.

Fast forward to this past Saturday.  I spent most of the day feeling like absolute garbage.  I took a midmorning nap to try to break my mild fever without meds (I hate taking meds if it can be avoided).  When I woke up, my daughter was headed off to her dad’s house to help out with a dinner party.  Since I was still feeling shit-tastic, I grabbed a blanket and Reflected In You, and dragged my miserable self down to the couch I have perched in front of my woodstove.

And then I proceeded to stay there for the rest of the day and most of the night.

Bared to You Reflected in You Entwined With You
Captivated By You One With You

I ran right through Reflected In You, reading all but the last twenty-or-so pages because I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer.  I woke up at 5am the next morning feeling much better, and dove right back in.  Once finished, I moved right on to Entwined By You and made it about forty pages in before I had to head out to finish up Christmas shopping.  While I was out, I picked up a copy of Captivated By You as well.  I was hooked and couldn’t bear the thought of finishing up Entwined only to not have the next book to move on to.

Well, I ended up reading until 2:30am, finished Entwined and start on Captivated.

Now, I sit here typing this post and I feel hungover.  I’m exhausted and my eyes wont stop watering…

…but it was so worth it.  😉   I’m sure I look like a bit of a trainwreck, but we all have to make sacrifices, right?

I have already done my review of Bared to You and the remaining three are all scheduled to go live this week on Pure Textuality.  I just have to type up the review text, and finish Captivated By You, which I’ll be doing as soon as I hit publish on this post.  😉  I have to say, so far, Entwined With You is my favorite in the series.  🙂  Which is your favorite????

The side thought I will leave you with because it probably wont make it into my reviews is this: Sylvia Day should totally sell the rights to certain scenes to a top shelf porn company.  Not parody but actually acting the scenes out.  That would make totally hot porn.  lol

I doubt there will be much writing happening today.  I’m so tired, I don’t think I could keep my head on straight enough to form much by way of coherent thought, but you never know.  This post is approximately 600 words more than I thought I could string together.  😉
