My bookish adventures continue! After how much I loved Deviant Hearts, I decided to try another one and went with TOXIC LOVE by Jagger Cole. This one has a unique and very twisty story line. The mid-thirties MMC is contracted to marry and the mid-twenties FMC slides in to prevent the bride from being her eighteen year old aunt. She’s got an ace up her sleeve but it’s nothing he could ever see coming. This book was a fun ride with a great mafia-adjacent story line. As a big fan of her Ex Marks the Spot series, I picked up HATE THE PLAYERS by Rebel Bloom when it dropped. Her books are both spicy and full of laughs and this one didn’t disappoint. THESE SINFUL DESLIGHTS by Beth Evans was a wonderful story. You meet the FMC the day her divorce is finalized and she’s made the plan to celebrate with some Headboard Olympics. Enter Benjamin Madden, the very hot man parked in the VIP section of the bar she wandered into. Then enter his three best friends. The FMC’s connection with the four men in this book really borders on instalove but the story line is just dark enough to balance it a bit. Definitely an entertaining read, and while it didn’t stop me from loving the story, I will warn you that the book has some editing issues.

And then there is this trio. I came across the first book in the WICKED BOYS OF BCU trilogy by Rachel Leigh on Audible. I was surfing through the dark romance titles included in my membership. I actually thought it was a series of standalones but it’s a why choose trilogy. It’s listed as dark bully but it’s sooooooo much darker than that. In the first book, the MMC Ridge is stalking the FMC while sporting an absolutely unhinged obsession. Some of the things he ends up doing both to her and for her are off the deep end of bonkers. I loved it. Thought it was fantastic. But it doesn’t stop there. The other two MMCs and and the ongoing storyline running in each book escalates the fuckupedness. This is a series that I would suggest you heed the trigger warnings. They’re no joke. This series has a secret society, dead bodies, conspiracies, secrets on top of secrets wrapped in secrets with a secret garnish, and by the time you hit the end of the trilogy, you will be floored by the way everything comes together. This series is another that I will warn that the books have some editing hiccups but it wasn’t enough to keep me from enjoying the series. The story is worth the occasional typo.
