I’d be a Scooby Gang Reject…

I never did kick that case of potty mouth.

I asked this question in my private Facebook group recently.

Does profanity use on social media turn you off
from reading an author’s work?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Regarding profanity or vulgarity on FB and similar platforms: You are a talented writer. As such, your vocabulary should contain a multitude of words with which you can express your emotions. Having said that, I understand that the characters in your works may sometimes express themselves in ways you as a person probably would NOT.

I have been watching a lot of Korean TV series–probably the CLEANEST writing I have seen since “Father Knows Best” or “Leave It to Beaver” ! Not speaking Korean, I depend on subtitles so I don’t know what they are actually saying. The strongest epithet 99% of the time is “My gosh!” and holding hands or a peck of a kiss is a rare PDA. Anyway, I throw that out as an illustration that other cultures do things differently.

I think sex is wonderful, but we are pretty blatant about it in our media.

Dagnabbit!! My comment turned into an essay. I will submit it anyway; maybe someone will read it.

    God bless you and yours.
